A Tribute to Barry Louis Polisar

Does your Aunt Helen always tell you
"Wait until you have kids of your own, then YOU'LL see!"

It's true. Things look different when you're a parent.

See, Barry Louis Polisar is a kid who never grew up. He sang songs for kids in the 70's and 80's. Songs like "I Got a Teacher, She's So Mean" or "Don't Eat The Food that is Sitting on your Plate." Songs your parents wouldn't want you to hear.

It might give you ideas.

And then Barry got older and had kids of his own.
And those songs came back to haunt him.

Even his own kids could sing the songs back to him.

Not only his own kids, but kids all over remember these songs fondly, and now sing them gleefully as adults.

So here is a 13 minute sampling of the new  2 disc tribute album to the songs of
Barry Louis Polisar, sung by contemporary bands like
The  Vespers, the Purple Mums, and  Deborah Berman and the Nogoodniks.

playlist

I Want to Be a Dog ... Tom Vincent
Never Cook Your Sister in a Frying Pan... Robbins in a Tree-O
My Brother Threw Up on My Stuffed Toy Bunny... Purple Mums
Shtek Nit Dayn Finger in der Nose... Deborah Berman and the Nogoodniks
All I Want is You... the Vespers

Some people never grow up.

And we are very glad.
